Introduction To LCD Modules

Liquid crystal display module, ‌ LCD module for short, ‌ basically consists of two parts: ‌ display screen and backlight assembly. ‌ These two parts are assembled together, ‌ but are independent of each other when working (‌ that is, the circuits are not related) ‌. ‌ The status of LCD display module is equivalent to the cathode ray tube in the traditional CRT display, ‌ and is the core component of display devices such as LCD TV. ‌ In addition to the display screen and backlight assembly, the module also includes power supply circuit, ‌ signal processing circuit, ‌ and of course, components such as the shell. ‌ The principle of liquid crystal display is that the backlight assembly emits uniform surface light, ‌ which is transmitted to our eyes through the LCD screen. ‌ The function of the LCD screen is to process these lights by pixels ‌ to display images. ‌

The best technology of LCD module is Sharp, ‌ followed by Samsung and Sony. ‌ The main parameters include contrast, ‌ brightness, ‌ signal response time and viewing angle. ‌ Contrast is an important indicator of LCD module. ‌ For general users, ‌ a contrast ratio of 350:1 is enough, ‌ but in the professional field, such a contrast ratio cannot meet the needs of users. In terms of brightness, liquid crystal itself cannot emit light and needs to rely on additional light sources, so the number of lamps is related to the brightness of the LCD display. The earliest LCD displays only had two lamps, one above and one below. Up to now, the most popular ones have at least four lamps, and the high-end ones have six lamps1.

In addition, there are specific recommendations for the storage and protection of LCD display modules. For long-term storage, it is recommended to put it in a polyethylene bag (preferably with an anti-static coating) and seal the mouth, store it between -10-+35℃, keep it in a dark place away from strong light, and strictly avoid storage under extreme temperature/humidity conditions. ‌
