The protection measures for character LCD display modules mainly include correct wiring methods, appropriate power connection sequence, arrangement of temperature compensation circuits, measures to prevent water vapor infiltration, and improvement of the shell protection level.
Correct wiring method: The external leads of the module must be correctly wired, especially the wiring of the positive and negative power supplies must not be wrong to avoid overcurrent and overvoltage damage to the components on the circuit.
Appropriate power connection sequence: After connecting the logic power supply, connect the drive power supply; when the power is off, first cut off the drive power supply, then cut off the logic power supply, to maintain the good display effect of the screen and avoid voltage shock damage1.
Arrangement of temperature compensation circuit: Due to the physical properties of liquid crystal materials, its contrast will change with the change of temperature, so it is necessary to adjust the negative voltage value with the temperature, or arrange a potentiometer to adjust the negative voltage value with the temperature to maintain the display effect.
Measures to prevent water vapor infiltration: Insulating rubber rings are used to seal pixels and modules in the LED display system, and foam bars and high-quality weather-resistant glue are used to fill the joints between the decoration and the module to prevent water vapor from infiltrating.
Improvement of shell protection level: The shell protection level of all products reaches IP65 or above to provide better waterproof and dustproof protection.
